BIO Mechanics

"It isn’t the mountains ahead to climb that wear you down. It’s the pebble in your shoe"

We are a team of experienced Biomechanics specialists for the prevention and treatment of pain and injury. We utilize an integrated approach by identifying the weakest link, evaluating the whole picture, not just the presenting symptoms – restoring balance and functional pain free movement. We look closely at joint mobility, muscle imbalances, movement patterns, posture and compensations. We follow with an in-depth Biomechanical Assessment and 3D movement, functional neurological screening and Slow motion video Gait analysis.
Sports Biomechanics assessments would help you immensely to run more efficiently and overcome posture related movement issues to avoid any potential future injuries.
We treat walkers, runners, athletes, skiers and snowboarders. The very young to the very old and everyone in between.

Short Term Analysis

The study of biomechanics is important when determining what causes injuries and therefore how we can prevent them re-occurring. This is especially important in elite athletes but can be a major cause in recurrent injuries among amateur athletes.
Our Physiotherapists are professionally trained to detect biomechanical faults which can predispose you to injury.

Long Term Analysis

Body movement patterns can change due to various reasons over a particular season. It can also change during various phases of an athlete’s career. This may be due to psychological issues or underlying illnesses. Or it may change due to sheer overtraining.
Athletes can compare their biomechanical analysis done at various times of the year and check for typical patterns that can emerge.

Strength & Conditioning

We specialize in specific strength & conditioning training. Our focus is put into many areas such as strength, power, core stability, neural co-ordination, mobility, speed and agility, all periodized for your current fitness/competition level and what your goals are.
We treat walkers, runners, athletes, skiers and snowboarders. The very young to the very old and everyone in between.

Sports Psychology

"Ninety percent of the game is mental and the other half is physical"

Athletes who practice mental toughness as part of their regular training regime are more likely to be successful in sport and in life.
Athletes learn how to deal with failure, overcome setbacks, prepare for difficult times and manage anxiety. They learn how to deal with stress and fatigue and develop the power of focus. They understand what they are capable of and how to work hard. They know how to motivate themselves and reinforce desirable behaviour.
Our trainers use the following four techniques to motivate and reinforce desirable behaviour of the athletes:
  • Goal-Setting
  • Positive Self-talk
  • Imagery / Visualization
  • Relaxation
We aim to make any athlete mentally steady at any point of time during his career.

Rehabilitation & Recovery

With the use of exercise, movement, and therapeutic interventions, sports rehabilitation helps maintain health and fitness and helps you recover from injury and reduce pain.

Our aim is to return you to your highest level of function by focusing on biomechanics and exercise rehabilitation. Our experts provide decision on Mode of Injury Management (Surgical Intervention & Conservative Management) and also provide decision on Return to Play (RTP).

Also, Recovery is becoming increasingly important to the high-performing athlete in a bid to reduce fatigue and enhance performance. Make sure your body is ready to tackle all the physical demands of the activities before you get back out there. Your recovery programme is individually tailored by us to your needs so that you feel fitter, stronger, confident and perform at your best again.

Meditation is yet another important tool. Research shows that it spurs the release of a focus-enhancing compound (acetylcholine) that clears your head as you’d have taken a 90 min nap.

Sports rehabilitation & recovery will combine advice, education, and rehab into all the features of your daily life.

Sports Nutrition

"Proper Nutrition is the key to unlock your bodies Potential"

Sports nutrition is the foundation of athletic success. It is a well-designed nutrition plan that allows active adults and athletes to perform at their best. Right choice of food, energy, nutrients, and fluids are required to keep the body well hydrated and functioning at peak levels. Macronutrients like carbohydrates, proteins and fats in food supply the energy essential to optimal body function.
Our Sports nutritionists provide unique plan to athletes according to individual goals which could include gaining lean mass, improving body composition, or enhancing athletic performance.
70% of the athlete is made in the kitchen – we believe a measured and pro-rated nutrition plan to suit a specific athlete is the absolute key. “You can’t out-exercise a bad diet.”

Speed, Agility, and Quickness (SAQ) Training

Majority of sporting outcomes are heavily dependent on speed, agility, and quickness. Speed is defined as the ability to move the body in one direction as fast as possible. Agility is the ability to accelerate, decelerate, stabilize, and quickly change directions with proper posture. Quickness is the ability to react and change body position with a maximum rate of force production. All three components will enhance the client’s workout experience, satisfy the need for cardio-respiratory work, and provide variety in movement, direction and position.
We plan a gradual and structured progression programme for our clients to prepare them for activities that they participate in, both occasionally and on a regular basis.

Plyometrics

Plyometric exercise increases muscular power, which translates to higher jumps and faster sprint times. What plyometrics are meant to do is teach you to exert maximum force in minimum time. To achieve this, each exercise must be performed quickly with maximum power and speed.
Our efficient coaches will understand and provide you “the right amount of power” by working more accurately on the components which needs improvement.
